Review: Holding my Breath by Harper Dell

Paw Prints Rating:  iiiii

Book Synopsis -

Heath may be half vampire, but he's one hundred percent hot-blooded male. Claire's a sculptor and runs on emotion, but she's not about to let falling for a man mess up everything she's worked so hard for - least of all one who could change her destiny. When Heath commissions Claire to create a marble statue in time for Halloween, he insists she work at his house. As her masterpiece develops, so too does the attraction between them. But Claire soon discovers Heath is not what he seems. He is a man at once too good to be true and too awful to even think about. Her instinct is to run from him, but how can she run from a man who has crept inside her soul? If she stays, her life will change forever, unless she can find a way to change his... This modern day Beauty and the Beast gives you front row seats on a sensual rollercoaster of desire and passion.

Book review -

Super sweet "bite" of story!!

Harper really keeps you on your toes with this unpredictable and sweet story of vampire love.

Claire is a strong and independent woman who is dead set on relying solely on herself and no one else. She has worked hard to get her name out as an exceptional sculptor. This is how she meets in the very rich and uber sexy Heath.

It doesn't take long before they are both head over heels in love with each other, and Claire will anything to keep him with her.

I love that Claire's own mother and best friend pretty well gang up on her in the end...almost like they know what he is and that he is perfect for her.

I truly enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading future works from her. I will also be catching up on books she already has out.

Great writing Harper

Happy Howls (positives): I love the twist on the vampire lore, certainly not something that I would have thought of.

Gruesome Growls (negatives): I would have like a tiny bit more back history to the characters as there really isn't much to go on, but I do understand that adding extra info like that can turn it from something short and sweet to a full size novel...lol
