Review: Dragon Red: A Fire Unfed by Macy Babineaux

Paw Prints Rating:  iiiii

Book Synopsis -

Love is a fire that needs to be fed.

Kal Wildfire roams the Burning Sands with no memory of who he is or how he got there. A desert witch will set him on the path to regain his identity and to find what he truly needs.

Thalia Thistledown is a shy, beautiful young woman living in a warren of other rabbit shifters in the Hartglade Forest. But in the blink of an eye she will lose everything as a marauding army of snake soldiers mercilessly destroys everything she holds dear.

As their paths cross, Kal will need Thalia's help to complete his journey to recover his memory and powers. Thalia will need Kal's help to find new purpose in a world where she has lost everything. And they will need to work together to stop the plans of a demon and two dragon shifters determined to tear the world apart and remake it in their image.

Along the way, they will learn that sometimes a flower of hope grows from the ashes of tragedy, and sometimes you have to forget who you were to realize who you really want to be.

Dragon Red: A Fire Unfed is the second book in the Dragonlords of Xandakar series. It has a happy ending and a little bit of steam, and you won't be lost if you haven't read the first book.

Book review -

Just WOW!!! Hot steamy Dragon shifters!!!

Betrayal abounds in this story, and I was totally hooked from the first sentence!!!

Kal is betrayed by his own brother, loosing his memory and his ability to shift. Found wandering the desert by a crow shifter who may hold the answers to who he is, but is he willing to pay her price to get the info??

Traveling through his world with only the information give to him by a witch, he sets out to fins himself and get home. On his journey he finds rabbit shifter Thalia, after the snake shifters have decimated her village and her family. He wants to be rid of her convinced she will just slow him down, but her persistence soon has him realizing that she may be of use.

Marko has betrayed his not only his family but his people, and all for a woman he can not have. Doing the bidding of a trapped and powerful demon that could destroy everything.

Truly detailed and deep story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is book 2 in the series and I very much look forward to reading book 1 and any future books in the series.

Happy Howls (positives): I really enjoyed the deception done here...you don't usually see where the deception in a story comes from until the very end, but the author has not only thrown it right out there from the start but she draws it out and creates in vivid detail so you really know and understand where it is coming from.

Gruesome Growls (negatives): Nothing really negative to say. There are few parts that will make a bunch more sense once I've read the first book.
