Book review -
This is not normally the type of book I would read. I was a military wife for 8 yrs and even though my husband was USAF and never saw anything like that as he was support not combat, I have had a few family that have been in the Army and Marines, so this was very much not an easy read for me as it hits way to close to home in some aspects. With that being said, I read the book anyway and I'm glad that I did.

This story really hit close to home on many levels...I was never abandoned by my mom like Sophia was...but I know what abuse is like as I'm a Domestic Violence survivor. Knowing that Sophia still managed to grow up and live the life she wanted is amazing and speaks to the way she was raised and the people that raised her.

The story moved a bit fast so I think some details were left out, but otherwise it was really a great read.

I don't want to go too much more in depth as I feel it would reveal too much of the story and that would just be no fun!!

I look forward to reading more from this author provided it isn't military based, that is just a bit too hard for me.

Happy Howls (positives): I love the relationship dynamic between Soph and Nathan....I actually know people that have that very kind of relationship

Gruesome Growls (negatives): I personally would not write a story based in another country then have the characters speak in dialogue like they were in the country I'm from (i.e. US based story speaking like they were in the UK) it irks me a bit because I don't feel that the author didn't research how American's actually speak. The story is also just kind of thrown together so there are parts that kinda don't make sense and really need a bit more detail and other parts that are just shorter then necessary. Also, I don't feel that enough research into American military was done...anyone who has not been in the service would read this and think that our soldiers get paid a ton of money that they don't get...most combats vets make less per hr (when broken down) then some fast food managers. The story was amazing but I think a bit more research could have made the story epic!!
