But when your brother's emergency happen off-planet, calling 9-1-1 really isn't an option.

In their attempt to save a brother they barely remember. Devon, Lyle, and Lawrence expose themselves to mortal danger and inherit a destiny that killed the last four guys cursed with it. In 2022, there are humans and aliens, heroes and monsters, choices and prophecies--and four brothers with the power to choose what's left when the God's decide they're through playing games.

Book review -

OK so I don't normally read YA books, I leave that for my kids, but in an effort to find more books appropriate books for them to read and something they might enjoy I decided to give it shot.

This story starts out VERY slow and can get extremely confusing, however it does pick up pretty quickly after about chapter 10. Once it really finally gets going you don't want to put the book down, it can start getting intense and actually made my heart race quite a bit after Lawrie was held and they went to the collage campus.

I love that this story is "futuristic" but yet set in our time today. Aliens "visitors" living openly among us and even having embassies!!! The imagination of the author is broad and pretty detailed...especially when describing the characters and the dream that Lyle keeps getting sucked into because of Evan.

I am actually very much looking forward to reading the rest of series.

Happy Howls (positives): I love the way the brothers interact with each other...it shows more actual reality with siblings then other books that either make them out to be 100% awesome to each other or 100% hate each other...her attention to detail when it comes to the feelings of the characters is also very unexpected, but not unwelcome.

Gruesome Growls (negatives): I would have to say that the very slow start at the beginning nearly had me not even finishing the book, and it was a bit on the confusing side. However, once you get past that the story because fast paced and intense.
